In May 2025, LHTC closed on the acquisition of Pennsylvania Telephone Company (PTC). PTC was originally formed in 1909 and was organized under the name of Nippenose Telephone Company which served the Nippenose Valley/Jersey Shore region of Pennsylvania. Like Laurel Highland Telephone Company, area residents had begun to organize in response to the need they saw in the community for a way to communicate with the rest of the world. Nippenose Telephone Company was purchased in 1961 and renamed Pennylvania Telephone Company. Today, PTC serves the communities of Bastress, Collomsville, Oval, and Rauchtown with telephone and gigabit fiber Internet services.
