The 2nd Annual Customer Appreciation Day was held on Saturday, September 24 from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Ladore Camp and Conference Center. Over 285 customers attended the event. Free SCTC t-shirts were given to the first 200 customers.

SCTC unveiled its’ new name & logo during a presentation given by General Manager, Eric Smith, and President & CEO, James Kail. The new name, LHTC Broadband, represents the future of the telecommunications industry. It also ties into the “Wayne Tomorrow” initiative that county officials are working on to bring better broadband (a high-capacity transmission of data over the Internet, which enables a large number of messages to be communicated simultaneously) services to Wayne County. LHTC Broadband is currently building fiber optic services throughout South Canaan and Waymart, which are able to offer reliable, high speed Internet services. County Commissioner, Brian Smith, noted that broadband technology is essential for economic development and to keep younger generations in the area to live and work.

After the presentation, customers enjoyed lunch along with some popcorn and cotton candy treats. They listened to music performed by local family band, The Pharm, and awaited the announcement of the ten door prize winners.

LHTC Broadband’s HD cable service was on display at the information table along with information on the neXus Retriever, Whole Home DVR service now available with neXus IPTV cable. A splicing demonstration was on hand for customers to learn about the process of providing fiber optic services.

There were plenty of activities for the kids which included a duck pond, super hero bean bag toss, super hero cut-out photo area and a create your own super hero mask station. We also had balloon art and face painting from Just Illusions.

Customers tried out their golf skills at the putting green to try to win LHTC Broadband hand sanitizers and mason jar mugs. Customers also tested their skills at our Dime Pitch, where they pitched coins into cups to win LHTC Broadband drawstring bags and chip clips. Everyone had a good time playing the games and socializing.

Everyone had a great day playing games and socializing. Our staff enjoyed meeting the customers and getting to talk to them face-to-face. And a few of them walked away with some great prizes; 55″ and 24″ HDTV’s, Cordless Phones, Kindle Fire HDX, Fit Bit, 2 sets of Kid’s walkie talkies, ROOT Sports camping chair, Lifetime luggage set, and History Channel OGGI Backpack.

Overall, it was another great event and we want to thank everyone that came out! We hope to see everyone again next year and look forward to continuing to serve your community and provide local customer service. Be on the lookout for LHTC Broadband as we transition to the new name in 2017.
